Monmouth turned in one record, four other personal-bests and eight marks that rank in the top five of the Midwest Conference as the Fighting Scots track team competed at the Keck Invitational in Bloomington on Saturday.

A pair of personal-bests in the weight throw and two wins highlighted the Monmouth College track weekend at UW-Whitewater where the men competed on Friday and the women Saturday.

Dan Evers vaulted himself past a national champion and Joanna Podosek ran into the nation's top 10 as Monmouth College opened their home indoor track and field season Saturday on the newly resurfaced Niblock Track inside the Huff Athletic Center.

Monmouth's Dan Evers (Sugar Grove, Ill./Kaneland) opened the indoor track season with a personal-best and earned the season's inaugural Men's Field Event Performer of the Week award for men's track.

One record, two performances in the nation's top 10 and three individual bests highlighted the Monmouth College track and field team's season-opening meet at the Frigid Bee Invitational hosted by St. Ambrose University Saturday afternoon.

Midwest Conference track coaches have predicted the league's most dominant men's team will continue their reign in 2018. In a vote of the league's coaches, Monmouth's men were selected as the team to beat while the Scots' women were given the No. 2 nod.
